New Mexico 2005

You may be wondering why I’m writing about a trip two years ago to New Mexico. Well, it’s because I was inspired. Inspiration comes (to me) in may forms, cookies, music, clothing and sometimes neices.

The new rathblog features an inaugural post, Congratulations. I’m a mom. Amy’s descriptive prose flooded my mind with our own similar experience.

See the picture of Michele below? The one where she appears to be counting to five? Click that photo and take a closer look. Yes, we were were at McDonalds in Kingman, AZ. No, Michele didn’t have a chocolate shake and spill on her shirt. Quinan decided to make his own soft serve and somehow it got everywhere in the car. Ah, the joys of parenthood. If I remember correctly Michele ended up changing her clothes in the back of the car, although I’m not sure why, it was only another 7-8 hours to her parent’s house in White Rock.

Yes, July 2005 was a great family trip. We took our mugs at Hoover Dam, welcomed Sarah home from her 18 month bilingual vacation in Chicago, played kickball, made coffee can ice cream, shared watermelon and had a wonderful time.

Here’s to Yellowstone in 2008 (are we still on)?
