100 Miles

I seem to keep taking time off from running. Most recently I was absent for two months after starting a new job.

The prodigal son has returned. I’ve backed up to week six on the 13-week program. Ran 3.5 miles today and just crossed the 100 mile (in 2008) threshold.

The first principles of gospel gardening

Today in Church every member of our family shared testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ (except Quinan who was sleepy). Kennerley’s comment on Radishes even drew a comment from our Bishop, “I’ll never look at a radish in the same way again.”

After church we were eating watermelon, discussing gardening, and the gospel. I commented that I think the three most important parts of gardening are seeds, compost and water. Michele and the girls quickly added sunshine. A quick thought popped in my head and I then asked, could these four items relate to the first principles and ordinances of the gospel?

Our discussion continued and it turns out that they sure can. We learn from Alma that faith is like a seed. Compost is like repentence, if we overcome, something of waste can become something of great worth. Water is the symbol of baptism. The influence of the holy ghost can be felt many places at once, just like sunshine.

Have you noticed any symbols, types or shadow in your gardening efforts or everyday life?

PhotoBooth

A quick post during my lunch break…

Michele’s brother Dave and (his wife) Brandy recently acquired a refurbished iMac. They invited us over last night for FHE and a delicious dinner. We showed them PhotoBooth (which they didn’t know they had). Here’s the results:

We need to walk more

We stopped by the grocery store and saw some friends (Angela and Brett) who had walked there with their kids. They are a great example… we need to walk more as a family.

Those silly California Justices

The court has gone against the will of the people to create a new definition of marriage that hadn’t existed before.
