Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney

Michele and I attended a rally for Mitt Romney tonight. The place was packed, people filled out the back, down the stairs and into the lobby. There was a ton of energy and excitement. After his speech we maneuvered within ten feet and almost met him. Silly me, forgot the camera.

I really think he is the best candidate for President and have decided to support him in Saturday’s caucus.

Hugh is (not) Toast

I am not a runner. I’m more of a jog-walker, possibly a jalker, or maybe a running talker, a tunner? Hughburst?

On our recent trek to mecca (SLC) I discovered that I outweigh my older brother who is four inches taller and 1.5 decades older. No matter how you analyze this statistic, the reality of my obesity is not a good thing.

Now that I’m equipped with a nike+nano I’m determined to do something about my weight and fitness. I just won a nike+ challenge issued by Michele. Of course I’m pretty sure Michele let me win, her average pace is a couple minutes faster than me, and she’s been running pretty consistently for about a year.

Since I won this last challenge, I get to create the next one. “Run a dozen” is a public challenge, so feel free to join in. A few nike+ strangers already have.

Not sure you want to join? Don’t worry I’m pretty slow, the proof is in my profile .

"...You NAME your SQUID?!?"

We (Bailey, Garen, Mitchell, and me) were at the temple, just finished up with baptisms for the dead, eating in the cafeteria, discussing G. A. T. E. projects we had done in elementary…
Kind of a funny story…

“Well, in fifth grade, we dissected a squid, and then had Calamari.” I said.

Then Mitchell says, rather confuzzled, “You NAME your SQUID?!?!”

Parent Teacher Conference

Jen with her fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Presley.

Yesterday we met with Jen’s fifth grade teacher, Ms. Presley, for a parent-teacher conference. Jen came through with flying colors.

A really close shave

Quinan must have been inspired by his Uncle’s five o’clock shadow, because when we returned home from our trip he found a razor and decided to shave. Unfortunately the only thing he had to shave was his lip.

Quinan with merely a flesh wound. Quinan had a really close shave.

He ended up sporting a band-aid mustache to church.

Abide with Me!

During church the hymn Abide with Me! touched my heart.

The last line of verses one and three especially…

Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me!
Thru clouds and sunshine, Lord, abide with me!
