The Teen Summer Reading Club
I just joined the Teen Summer Reading club. It’s where teens or tweens can read books or do other reading activities (which they give you a list) to earn prizes. with each thing you do,you get a point and every 5 points you get a prize. I am not sure if any places outside of Las Vegas do these things, but if you can, I would suggest this.
P.S. No one not entering 6th grade this year can enter but there is a children’s summer reading club.

Kenn is turning into a great backyard photographer (especially with a super-macro lens). You can see her work at duckyintheskye on flickr.

My personal mission:
Eternal preparation.
Asset, dream, enterprise.
Cheer, serve, magnify.
Live providently.

Mother's Day Terra Cotta Pot's
In case you’re not a regular reader of the Duff family blog, Jen (and her friends) are famous on the interweb for their Mother’s Day Terra Cotta Pot’s.
My simplified outline of the 7 Habits.
Habit #1: Be Proactive
Make things happen (Do it.)
- Take initiative (rather than being victimized)
- Focus on what you can influence
- Recognize, learn from and correct mistakes
- Make and keep commitments
Habit #2: Begin with the end in mind
Plan with a Purpose
- Ponder my personal missions (roles and long-term goals)
- Visualize then create
- Replicate with family, church and work
Habit #3: First Things First
(this is a work in progress)…

Running update 5-9-08
I should be finished with the 13-week program by now. I’m not.
Yesterday I ran week 10 session 1 (run 30 minutes, walk 1, run 30 minutes). I did it. My longest run ever. I love this 13-week program. After tomorrow’s run, my 2008 total will be 90+ miles.
I’ve decided when I finish to run the “run faster program.” Then I’ll either run the run longer program or possibly train for a half marathon (following in my neice’s inspiring footsteps).
BTW, I’ve lost 20 lbs., 15 since starting the program. 15 lbs., to go.

Just chilin'
I love this photo of a baby anaheim chili from our garden. It reminds me of my nephew brad with his beanie on.
