Laptop vs. Car
This is what happens when a car runs over a 17” Apple Powerbook … the laptop would power up, but we couldn’t get it to boot into Firewire Target Mode and couldn’t connect a video cable to see what was happening.
I had to help a friend attempt to recover the data off the hard drive. Thanks to a usb enclosure and disk warrior he manage to save some of the files.
Somersaults
For our Family Night activity a few weeks ago Quinan showed us that he learned to somersault. Jensen courageously expressed that she had a little trouble with forward rolls. After a little encouragement and a few practice rolls she was saulting like a pro. They we all joined in on the fun. You might even catch me doing the worm.
Winter Garden
Today Ken and I planted lettuce, spinach, radishes, snow peas, carrots and cilantro in our square foot garden.

Shadow Tricks
Our Family Home Evening lesson a few weeks ago was on Types and Shadows of Christ .
The activity (on shadows) was inspired by Shadow Tricks from Curious George .
Shadow video 1: Watering a flower. (Click the picture to watch)
Shadow video 2: Losing her head.
Shadow video 3: Moses and the fiery flying serpents.
Shadow video 4: Nephi taking care of Laban .

Garden Chef
Ken chose the secret ingredient for Iron Chef this week, garden fresh vegetables. So we made fruit salad, a side of brown rice cooked with squash and peppers, and fish tacos with a lime-sour-cream-pepper sauce.

How is your hearing?
Go to the link below and comment how your hearing is? I’m between 30 and 39. Michele is sort of 49 and younger.

Mosquito ringtones were big with teens last year. Teachers can’t hear them, but kids can.

Green Thumb
Yesterday we enjoyed a watermelon that Ken grew in her square foot garden. It was delicious and Quinan couldn’t eat enough. She’ll have another watermelon ready soon. I guess the green thumb skips a generation.

House Bowling
As (now long-time) Las Vegans we generally avoid “resorts” but who can resist bowling? We recently discovered the lanes at the Red Rock (and a parking garage elevator that lets us avoid the whole casino thing). About halfway through the game the lights flashed off and on and off and the black lights turned on… cosmic bowling.
Homeward Bound
On the way home Jen has a little fun with the camera (self portrait)… and so did Quinan…
Later at home Quinan (being the creative genius he is) setup water bottles and invented “House Bowling.” Kennerley filmed this game for you entertainment pleasure below.

Fresh & Easy
I can’t wait for the new mini-grocery store being built down the street (even though I haven’t ever seen one inside).
