My favorite Holiday
I love Easter! I love that it comes during springtime and the newness of all around me. I love the flowering trees and plants and the new buds everywhere. There just seems to be a newness in the air (if you can get a good whif before sneezing). I like Easter because it reminds me of all Christ has done so I may have a newness each day. Easter often feels more like a time for new beginnings than New Years does for me. So Happy Easter!
We were all excited this morning at our house because now that Quinan is in primary as a Sunbeam he was going to be able to sing with all the primary kids in Sacrament meeting. We were very excited and curious to watch him. Would he go up with all the kids? Would he stand there? Would he wonder around the stand? Would he cry? Would he sing? Well it turns out he did none of those things. He fell asleep about 10 minutes before his big debut and he was out cold. So he slept through the whole thing. Oh well…. maybe next time.

Favorite Quote of the day
Found in a devotional address given at BYU-Idaho.
Ann Dibb daughter of President Monson.
“I’d like to share with you the most powerful testimony I’ve heard my father share. It was in his home ward during a sacrament meeting. He related his experience of going to the Holy Land, walking on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, and walking where Jesus may have walked… Then he said, ‘I may have walked where Jesus once walked, but what is more important to me is that today, I can walk where Jesus would walk if he were still with us. I can listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost and minister to those the Savior would minister to today,’” she said.

Conversation with Quinan
Oops didn’t blog yesterday. I kept waiting around for something to blog about.About the most exciting thing that happened yesterday was this conversation with Quinan. I let him play Lego Star Wars for half an hour before quiet time. This conversation happened at the end of the half hour.
Mom: Quinan, time to turn Star Wars off
Quinan: One more minute mom
after one more minute
Mom: Quinan, time to turn Star Wars off
Quinan: After one more minute
one minute later
Mom: Come on Quinan quiet time
Quinan: one more minute
Mom: Quinan time to turn Star Wars off
Quinan: one more minute mom
Mom: Do you even know what one minute is?
Quinan: no
That made me laugh and he got an extra five minutes because I was laughing.
This morning I was looking at cnn.com and thought I saw Sarah on the front page! But after careful study with a magnifying glass i decided it wasn’t.
I think there is another element to blogging I should give a try because I rarely do it. I do it even less than posting. That is commenting. I don’t reply to comments left on our blog and I don’t comment on blogs I read. I think that might be a fun part of blogging. Maybe I will give that a try today.

Quinan relief at last
Well, I have found something that will keep Quinan occupied. Though unfortunately it is not the best of things. Ever since Quinan no longer stayed on the couch and moved all around he would never sit in any one place for more than about 7 seconds. I know because one day I spent the whole day timing him to see how long he could sit still before running off some place. There have been days when I would beg him to just sit for 20 minutes in front of the TV like every other normal kid in America. But he just couldn’t do it. So I have mixed emotions about his new hobby. It keeps him busy. Kept him busy for 3 hours today so I could help Jensen finish her science project (more about that below) But it is not the best hobby. He has discovered Lego Star Wars on the PlayStation. The amazing thing is he can actually play it. I can’t even figure out how to play it. So it is not good for a 3 year old to spend 3 hours on a video game and worse is when he did get off he was sword fighting everyone. And sword fighting like it was for real… he was in it to win and chop whoever walked in his path into pieces. But, Jensen did get to work on her project in peace so……
Science Project. This is our last one for a few years. YEA!!!! This year Jensen decided she wanted to see what ingredient in cookies affected the taste and looks the most. The over the past few weeks we have been making cookies and each time leaving out a different ingredient. What ingredient do you think affects cookies the most? Is it a different ingredient for looks than for taste? Leave your predictions and we will let you know tomorrow.
A couple of weeks ago my leg starting hurting. I don’t remember hurting it… I just noticed that it was hurting. I’m not even sure what hurts. I think it is the hip flexor are but not sure. Anyway, I kept exercising and running and it kept hurting. Then last Thursday I pushed myself through the run and then could hardly walk the rest of the day. So I decided maybe i should rest it until it felt better. It’s Monday and it isn’t feeling any better. I’m bummed. Exercising is a great stress reliever. Plus, I have to watch what I eat even more (or pretend like I do) when I am not burning anything off. Which is really hard to do with a two pound box of Sees Chocolate sitting on my counter.
I made something new for dinner that Hugh liked. I was suprised he liked it because it mixed fruit and meat. He doesn’t think a fruit should be mixed in with a meat in a dinner. But sometimes I slide it in anyways. When we were first married he didn’t like Blue Cheese and now he puts it on everything so who knows what he will like when. Anyway, everyone loved the Cuban-Style Chicken.
One last thing before I go. I POSTED ANOTHER POST ON THE BLOG!!!! This is 2 days in a row now! I’m pretty excited. Though it is 9:20 pm and I didn’t start until 9:00 pm…. didn’t work on it all day. And I didn’t take a camera with me anywhere or take any pictures today. Oh well. maybe tomorrow.

Third time a charm?
Well, this is the third time I have said I wanted to try blogging. The past two times I said that, I would blog a couple of times and then that was it for me. I have such a hard time doing this but there are a few blogs I love to read so I get the whole blogging thing… just can’t seem to make it work. So, I have been thinking about why I have such a hard time doing it and trying to think how I can improve and make it happen. I had set the time to blog for about 8:00 pm. I think that is the biggest reason I can’t get into blogging for a number of reasons. #1 There are many nights when I am not even home at 8:00, by the time I do get home I just want to get to bed and relax. #2 Usually at 8:00 I am trying to get my family ready for school the next day and ready for bed. That is hard to do and blog at the same time. #3 When I do sit down and blog at 8:00 I can’t think of anything to blog about… all I can think of was it was just a regular normal day with nothing exciting and my life is to boring to have anything to blog about anyway. #4 Quinan… he doesn’t like me doing anything that doesn’t center around him (can’t remember if that is a 3 year old thing or if perhaps its a youngest syndrom) I have to pick my battles with what I do that doesn’t involve him and blogging just hasn’t won that battle. #5 I like the blogs that have pictures and links and all that fun stuff and can’t ever remember how Hugh showed me how to do it. I’m sure I could feel a whole page of reasons but I guess that is good.
I have been thinking again about why I wanted to blog. Which caused me to think about blogs I enjoy reading and why. I like reading Czech this out, The Brooks Family, Rathbuns, tastes kinda minty, all because they are blogs from family members and it is fun to learn more about my family. I also like three blogs from people I have no idea who they are. I don’t even remember how I happened upon these blogs because I don’t even know anybody that knows these bloggers. I like Because I Said So this blogger has six children and she is just a great writer. I always laugh at her stories. She reminds me of my friend Jan. Jan and this lady can take a normal occurance and turn it into a hilarious story. If anyone else tried to tell the same story it would most likely be a boring story. I like unwrapped because this lady is quite the crafter. I can’t do crafts… sometimes I can if I copy but this blogger is very creative and I like to look and ah. One of my favorite blogs and the reason I keep thinking I want to blog is constant growing amazement. I think her blog from today tells of why I like it. “I started my blog one year ago today. It was a foreign territory to me, although I have been a big journaling writer forever. I had no idea a year ago, the difference “blogging” would make in my life. I have a “year in the life” to share with my great-great-greats. I’ve shared our family’s lives, recipes, spiritual lessons, frustrations, thoughts about friends and family, a little of what has taken place in the world. I have people say to me all the time that my journal sounds just like me! Surprise! That is the way it is suppose to me.” I feel like I know this woman a little bit and she often uplifts me and gives me something to think about. I would like my blog posts share about the experiences of me and my family, spiritual lessons, frustrations, thoughts, a little of what has taken place in the world, the books I like, the music I like, so my great-great-greats can some to know a little bit about what life was like for Michele Roper.
So, what I am going to change so I can make this happen. #1 I am going to TRY and carry a camera around with me and really take pictures of the things going on. #2 Then right when, or as soon as I get to a computer, something happens or I take a picture I will blog about it. #3 Try to think of it as a way to share with those who will come way after me a little bit about me #4 have Hugh show me how to do links, and pictures (I already did that one! I got him to write it down step by step for me so I wont forget. I know he thought I was being like my mom but he didn’t laugh at me to hard)
Wish me luck!

Housing bubble
According to Zillow(.com), our home has dropped $42,000 in value during the last year. I don’t think it has hit the bottom yet.
